PIRAEUS, Greece -- Atletico Madrid slipped to a surprise 3-2 defeat to Olympiakos on Tuesday in a disappointing return to the Champions League for last seasons finalist. Atletico fell behind in the 13th minute of the Group A match when defender Arthur Masuaku aimed a left-footed drive past goalkeeper Jan Oblak, who was making his debut for the Spanish club. Striker Kostas Mitroglou unselfishly left the ball to Imbrahim Afellay who made it 2-0 in the 31st. But Mario Mandzukic pulled a goal back before the break, left unmarked to head in a cross from Cristian Ansaldi. Mitroglou scored with a stylish move that proved to be the winner in the 73rd, turning on the ball to beat Oblak, before Antoine Griezmann finally found the net in the 86th for Atletico. Griezmann was twice denied by Olympiakos goalkeeper Roberto -- who joined Atletico as a schoolboy and was loaned out by the club last year to Greece. "This is a huge win for us," said Olympiakos captain Giannis Mantiatis, who recovered from an ankle injury to make the starting lineup. "We had to sweat the whole match. These were very valuable points we got tonight." Atletico coach Diego Simeone watched from the stands at Karaiskaki stadium, as he served a one-match European ban. "We threatened throughout the game, but Olympiakos was very tough and they got a valuable win," Simeone said. Simeone defended his choice to replace first-choice goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya, arguing that rotation was needed to cope with the domestic and European workload. "What decided the game was that they were more effective with their chances that we were," he said. "Obviously this was a very negative result for us. Clearly Olympiakos is in a good position. What we feel now is a sense of responsibility." Olympiakos coach Michel Gonzalez said his team "successfully disrupted" Atletico. "To beat a team like Atletico, you have to do a lot of things right ... We are a team like (Atletico) and do well against teams that appear to be of higher quality," the Spanish manager said. "Now we have an advantage, to be sure," he said. "All I can say is that we are very happy -- much happier than we were two hours ago." Juventus beat Malmo 2-0 in the groups other game. This year, the Canadiens have a little more depth to work with by adding players like Daniel Briere, Dale Weise, Mike Weaver, Douglas Murray and arguably, the biggest addition to this playoff roster, Thomas Vanek, who the Canadiens were able to land at the trade deadline. https://www.cheapjazzonline.com/878e-kosta-koufos-jersey-jazz.html. -- At the beginning of training camp, Andrew Bogut set a goal to play all 82 regular-season games and regain his place among the NBAs best centres. Ricciardos exclusion from the results tarnished what had been a day of celebration for local fans, who were jubilant that the Red Bull driver had apparently become the first Australian to finish on the podium at his home race. However just before midnight, stewards ruled that Ricciardos car had "exceeded consistently the maximum allowed fuel flow" and that the team refused an instruction from the races technical delegate Charlie Whiting to change the fuel-flow sensor before the race and a further request during the race to reduce the fuel flow. MOSCOW -- South Africa cruised into the World Cup Sevens rugby quarterfinals without conceding a point and set up a showdown with two-time champion Fiji at Luzhniki Stadium on Saturday. South Africa put 33 points on Japan and 41 on Scotland to sweep its pool. Meanwhile, Fiji lost to defending champion Wales 19-14 to reach the last eight only as one of the two best second-placed teams. Wales moved into a clash with world series champion New Zealand. The other quarters are: England vs. Australia, Kenya vs. France. Philip Snyman scored South Africas first try of the day 90 seconds into the game against Japan, and his second before halftime. Against Scotland, Cheslin Kolbe scored a hat trick for South Africa. Now, they face the Fijians, who didnt concede a point either until they were overcome by unbeaten Wales. Fiji scored first while Wales had a man in the sin-bin, then Wales struck back through Gareth Davies, Alex Webber and Lee Williams to lead 19-7, a gap too far for Fiji. That left Australia as pool winner and France in second. New Zealand and England won their pools after scares. The United States led New Zealand 19-5 before the Kiwis began their comeback with a rare penalty try, tied it 19-19, and scored last courtesy of David Raikuna. England led 14-0 against Argentina, which stormed back to trail 14-12 then lost the ball over the line. That eliminated the Argentines, runners-up in 2009. Kenya danced after Michael Wanjalas late try helped to upset Samoa 17-12, and sent the Kenyans first through to the last eight. "The boys can now relax a little earlier, get the recovery right, and smile," Kenya coach Mike Friday said. Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
